The ALSB is fortunate to have the several services available. Questions should be directed to the contact listed under each service.
- ALSB Mentorship Program
The ALSB Mentorship Program pairs up new ALSB members (you must be a member) with current and experienced ALSB members for teaching mentors, research/scholarship mentors, or both. For more information, please contact the ALSB Faculty Liaison, Professor Susan L. Martin at Hofstra University at Susan.L.Martin@hofstra.edu
- AACSB International Liaison
The Academy maintains a formal liaison with and is a member of the primary collegiate business schools’ accrediting body: AACSB International. The ALSB’s liaison is:
Professor Peter Shedd
University of Georgia
- AICPA Representative
Successfully preparing our students for the rigors of their professional practice, as well as their accreditation through the CPA Examination, is critical to the teachers who work with future accountants. ALSB members are encouraged to contact the AICPA representative to discuss any issues and concerns where the interests of the ALSB and the AICPA coincide, including the AICPA’s Board of Examiner’s coverage of the law on the CPA Examination.

- ALSB Listserves
The Academy maintains two lists: ALSBTALK and ALSBNEWS. The Sections also maintain their own respective lists and information about them may be obtained by visiting the “ALSB Sections” on the homepage.
ALSBTALK is the discussion list where ALSB members exchange information, ideas, and hold discussions of general interest to the Academy at large.
ALSBNEWS is used by the Executive Committee to post announcements, job postings, calls-for-papers, general information, etc. for the ALSB membership.
To subscribe to the ALSBTALK and ALSBNEWS, e-mail this message “sub ALSBTALK your-first-name your-last-name” and/or “sub ALSBNEWS your-first-name your-last-name” to email@example.com.
Only current ALSB members will be permitted to subscribe as these are controlled-subscription lists. If you have any questions, would like more information, or if you desire to join, please contact the Executive Secretary, Daniel Herron, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- CLE Coordinator
ALSB members can register to receive CLE credit for attending the annual conference. The CLE Coordinator for the Academy will request approval from the States where members are asking for credit. The attendee will keep track of their sessions and report the hours attended to the CLE Coordinator on a Certificate of Attendance form.
